USDT
Accept USDT (Tether) payments on your website
Add USDT and receive dollar-pegged stablecoin payments directly to your own wallet — no volatility, tiny fees on Tron, and the same non-custodial model with no chargebacks.
Why accept USDT?
USDT (Tether) is the most widely used stablecoin in the world, pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. For merchants it solves the single biggest objection to crypto payments — volatility. When a customer pays 50 USDT, you receive value worth about $50, and it stays worth about $50. You get crypto's speed, low fees and global reach without watching the price swing.
In practice, USDT is the default choice for real-world crypto payments: invoicing, subscriptions, cross-border sales and anywhere price stability matters. With Crypto IPG it settles non-custodially, straight to a wallet you control.
USDT at a glance
| Type | Stablecoin, pegged 1:1 to the US dollar |
|---|---|
| Networks | Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20) |
| Confirmation time | Seconds on Tron; a few minutes on Ethereum. |
| Typical fees | Tiny on Tron (a fraction of a cent); higher on Ethereum during busy periods. Paid by the customer. |
| Best for | The default for real payments — price-stable sales, invoicing, subscriptions, and international customers. |
USDT on Tron vs Ethereum
USDT exists on several networks, and the one you accept matters. The two most common are:
- USDT on Tron (TRC-20) — fast and extremely cheap. This is the most popular way to send USDT for everyday payments, and what most customers will reach for.
- USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) — widely supported, but subject to Ethereum's variable gas fees, which can be significant on small amounts.
How USDT payments work
Customer chooses USDT
They pick USDT (and the network) at checkout and see the exact amount and a QR code.
They pay your wallet
The USDT goes directly to your address; our watcher confirms it on-chain — in seconds on Tron.
You're notified
A signed webhook marks the order paid and emails receipts to both sides.
How to start accepting USDT
- Get a wallet that supports USDT on your chosen network. For Tron, wallets like Trust Wallet or TronLink work well — see our wallet guide.
- Create a free Crypto IPG account and add your website or project.
- Paste your USDT receive address for the correct network into your dashboard. Make sure the address matches the network (Tron address for TRC-20, Ethereum address for ERC-20).
- Install a plugin or use the API — see integrations or the REST API.
- Send a small test payment on the right network before going live.
USDT payment FAQ
Does accepting USDT remove crypto volatility?
Largely, yes. USDT is pegged to the US dollar, so the value you receive stays stable rather than swinging with the crypto market.
Which network should I accept USDT on?
Tron (TRC-20) is the most practical for most merchants — fast and very cheap. Ethereum (ERC-20) works too but can have high gas fees on small amounts.
Do I need separate addresses for Tron and Ethereum USDT?
Yes. USDT on Tron uses a Tron address; USDT on Ethereum uses an Ethereum address. Always match the address to the network, or funds can be lost.
Do you hold my USDT?
No. Crypto IPG is non-custodial — USDT goes straight to your wallet, and we only confirm the payment on-chain.
